Public Awareness Campaign Rec 4 IICSA
“It’s spam.”
“Same post every day.”
“Feels aggressive.”
“Too repetitive.”
“Why that slogan?”
These are just a few of the reactions I’ve had to this campaign.
So let me be transparent.
Yes — I post daily.
Yes — I use the same adapted slogan: “See It. Say It. Sort It.”
Yes — the format is consistent.
But no — this isn’t spam.
This is a deliberate, survivor-led public awareness campaign — and every single post is different.
Each one shares:
• The work of the Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse (IICSA)
• A different survivor voice representaion
• A protective message for the public
📣 Why the Repetition?
Let me ask you this:
Do you remember…
• “Clunk Click Every Trip”?
• “Think Once, Think Twice, Think Bike”?
• “Drinking and Driving Wrecks Lives”?
• “Stop. Look. Listen. Think.”
• “Keep Britain Tidy”?
• “See It. Say It. Sorted.”?
These weren’t “one and done” messages.
They were repeated again and again — in ads, posters, classrooms, and on TV — until they changed behaviour.
They saved lives.
They made people think.
They stuck.
So when I repeat “See It. Say It. Sort It.”, I’m following a long, effective tradition of public safety messaging in the UK.
🔁 Why It Looks the Same
Because consistency builds recognition.
You’ve seen it.
You know what it is.
You either scroll past — or stop and take it in.
That’s the point.
Familiarity doesn’t weaken the message — it strengthens it.
And just like those other slogans, I won’t stop repeating this one.
Because for some children, visibility is protection.
🙏 If You’ve Criticised It
I understand your discomfort.
Child abuse is hard to think about.
But that discomfort is not a reason to go silent.
If you’re tired of seeing these posts, imagine how tired survivors are of living with the consequences.
So I’m asking you — not to love the format, but to read the message.
It could save a life.
