Our Future Journey: Strategic Plan 2026–2029
Survivors of aBuse (SoB) exists to empower adult survivors of childhood abuse and domestic violence through holistic, trauma-informed recovery.
This three-year strategy sets out our vision for growth — moving from a small but impactful grassroots charity to a sustainable, survivor-led national provider of holistic recovery and peer support.

Mission:
To empower adult survivors of abuse through holistic transformation — nurturing their ability to take back control, rebuild self-belief, and harness their own agency to live healthier, happier, and thriving lives.
Vision:
A society where all survivors are heard, believed, and supported — free from stigma and able to lead fulfilling lives.
Values:
Survivor-led • Holistic • Trauma-informed • Inclusive • Empowering • Collaborative
1. Programme Growth & Impact
We will expand delivery of our flagship Breaking the Cycle™ C.L.E.A.N.E.R.™ Living Therapy Programme, an 8-week trauma-informed, psychoeducational course built on seven pillars: Clear Mindset • Lifestyle Choices • Endocrine System • Anatomical Alignment • Nutrition • Exercise • Rest & Regeneration. With success in our #DoIt4Survivors campaign and funding bids, we aim to grow from two courses in 2026 to eight or more by 2028, directly supporting 64+ survivors each year and many more through our national peer community.
2. Survivor-Led Community & Peer Support
Survivors are at the heart of everything we do. Graduates of our programmes stay connected through our WhatsApp and Zoom peer networks and co-design themed masterclasses (Boundaries, Self-Care, Nutrition, Vision Boards, etc.).Thanks to recent community funding, several survivor-led wellbeing initiatives — such as Walk, Talk & Support — have flourished, showing the ripple effect of empowerment that begins in the programme and continues within the wider community.
Over the next three years, SoB will invest in a Train-the-Trainer pathway and a peer-mentor development programme, enabling survivors to take on facilitation, coaching, and leadership roles within SoB and beyond.
3. Advocacy & Awareness
We amplify survivor voices and campaign for systemic change. From the Respect Children, Protect Children campaign and our Breaking the Cycle to Step Forward podcast to national consultations and parliamentary briefings, we will continue to challenge stigma, influence policy, and advocate for trauma-informed practice across all sectors.
4. Organisational Development & Sustainability
To achieve our mission, we’re strengthening our foundations — governance, fundraising, communications, and infrastructure.Through corporate partnerships, community fundraising, and multi-year funding bids (including the £75k #DoIt4Survivors campaign and £375k Lottery proposal), SoB will become financially resilient and ready to scale nationally by 2029.
